Project Kitchen--Make Room for Baby

With two weeks left before the birth of their second child, the W family called on the Clutter Counselors to help reorganize their kitchen. The kitchen lacks storage space and the W family knew that with the addition of all of the bottles and other baby items, the space would once again be a huge disaster.

The Clutter Counselors came in early in the morning with lots of energy and enthusiasm. After a quick consultation with Mrs. W, they went to straight to work. The first project was the very crowded pantry (unfortunately we forgot to take before pictures but you can imagine how bad it was). They got rid of old food and completely reorganized the small space so that it made sense. Now everything is easy to get to and the new system will be easy for the W family to follow.

The next project they tackled were the cabinets. They helped to organize the baking cabinet and added new storage containers to make everything easy to get to.

This cabinet was once crowded with sippy cups, wine glasses, glass bowls, pitchers and so much more. It now just contains glasses and check out all that room for the baby's bottles!

In this space you couldn't even grab a mug unless you feared for your life. Now the mugs, plates and bowls are all easy to get to and see.

This counter was once littered with papers and other random items (you couldn't even see the counter). The Clutter Counselors found this basket that Mrs. W had and thought it was the perfect place to store the most recent mail, pens, scissors and other things that need to be close at hand.

The last area they did was under the sink. They brought a special under the sink shelf which now allows every item to be easily visible. This special shelf is built to fit around the sink pipes.

In less than 4 hours, the Clutter Counselors turned this crowded and dysfunctional kitchen into a space that works well for the W family.

Testimonial From the W Family:

"We are so grateful to the Clutter Counselors and their organizational super powers. J and E are upbeat, energetic and full of great ideas on how to turn a crowded space into a functional one. No more do we need worry about things falling out of cupboards onto our heads and everything has a home. It will be easy for us to follow the system they have put in place and it gives us a sense of peace before the craziness of the new baby. We actually walk into our kitchen now and like the space! Thanks Clutter Counselors!!"
